This is a place with a lot local sentiment and history. During the Edo period, this site was the location of many of the old domain residences of the Kyoto clan. The location of Japan’s first successful movie preview experiment. The former Rissei Elementary school building was built through the efforts and donations of the local residents. We chose this place as our gate to KYOTO with our purpose being to coexist within the richness of the city. THE GATE HOTEL is located in the middle of Kyoto by the Takase River. If you are coming by car, please use the parking lots near the hotel. *Nearby parking lots include "Royal Park" and "Oike Underground Parking". Guests staying at the hotel can use "Royal Park" (mechanical parking lot, cars up to 1.55m in height) at a discounted rate.
